Uninformed Hunters

Man there are really some Stupid Hunters out in the woods today!

Saturday was the 1st Day of Whitetail Deer Muzzleloader season here, So I went out at Zero Dark Thirty this morning was up in the Tree well before Sunrise and just hanging out (Pun Intended) having a good day enjoying what GOD made all around me.

About 0730 this idjit walks in about 30 yards from me I'm whistling and making noise flashing my light at him, like I'm right here to let him know he's in my zone, He moves off to about 50 yards and sits down still well within my kill zone but being tired of playing ignorant games to advise him of my position I just let if but since it was Public land so I chalked it up to Poor Hunter Ethics or so I thought.

About 0900 a Nice 6 Point Buck comes along at about 80 yards from me to my right, I waited looking at the Buck because something didn't look right. When I noticed he had a ARROW sticking in him I zoomed in with my scope the arrow had just pierced the skin and the broad head was sticking out clearly with no sign of ANY blood around the wound. The Deer moved up to about 30-35 yards to my front, When I decided I was going to take it.

Being sighted In for 100 yards I knew I would have to aim a bit lower or my round would just fly right over him so I carefully put the cross hairs on him lowered them down some and squeezed off the shot. My 300 Gr JHP sabot from the 50 Cal In line Muzzle loader Hit it's Mark clearly as I saw him falter then run, about 150 yds to my left front he then stopped and was going to lay down. When suddenly the idjit from 90 minutes before stands and begins walking right at where the deer went down.

So Now I decide I gotta do something so Standing up YELLLING and SCREAMING at FULL Volume for him to STOP, I yelled till I was blue in the face but it was to no avail he walked on through, Flushed up the deer moving it on down and across the river up into private land. So I climbed down the tree. Reloaded the Gun, then took off after MORON and my deer.

At about 200 yards he's walking all around and I walk up on him MORON that is, and I'm like didn't you here me yell STOP, he's like ya but I wanted to look at the deer so I figured I'd find it for you. I'm like you @#$%%^& MORON you just PUSHED the deer across the river an ONLY God knows how far away.

Then he's like I can't find no more blood so you must have missed, and I'm like if there's blood over there I didn't freaking miss! Now being a Retired Marine and after dealing with kids for the past 23 yrs I wasn't holding anything back on him. I ended the one sided conversation with So why don't you Just leave the area before I beat you within a inch of your life with your own gun!

He's like I just wanted to HELP, and I'm Like you already ruined my day because you chased my deer across a river that I can't walk across and further into the woods, than he would had been, so now if you want to HELP...... just leave!

I did learn during this so called conversation that this was the 1st TIME he had EVER been hunting and everything he knew was from watching them so called experts on TV.

The Long of it I shot a GREAT deer one I would have been proud to mount but because some idjit that shouldn't be in the woods and doesn't know the 1st thing about DEER HUNTING pushed that deer across a river into Private Property with no way of being able to recover it.

The Lesson to TEACH NEW Hunters NEVER FOLLOW a deer within 5 mins of being SHOT!

Man that stinks. Brick Wall,) I have been lucky and haven't come across any Morons in the woods yet, but I will be hunting public land this year during rifle season. So, I should come across a few. Sorry about the loss.

I know how you feel Sempr. I have one around my blind area too. It seems he has to bring a 20 ft. extension ladder with him everywhere he goes at 8:00am no less! Brick Wall,)

Had just moved to PA and was My first year hunting there so I hadnt really gotten to make any contacts for private land. SO...I take 2 months of scouting some game lands up on MT. Gretna...Nice HUGE place with good heavy cover and the PGC plants some nice food plots on it. I start seeing some really nice signs of deer in the first of the second month scouting...Get all happy seeing TONS of Doe and a few nice BUCKS (nice for PA anyway). SOOOO I wait all happy knowing where Im gonna go....where im gonna put in for my climber all giddy knowing imma smack me a nice fat doe for the freezer...So...Im up there bout 30 min before daylight...and can already hear the wonderful sounds of nature stirring...Daylight comes with 6:45....I look up at the ridge above me and see 5 doe and 2 BUCKS working thier way down the ridge all nice and slow totally clueless that one of them is about to meet a 100 grain rocket broadhead!!! I watch them for about 30 minutes working thier way down poppin up some of the whiteoak acorns on the way to me....They are now about 65 yards from my "freezer" spot that Ive already ranged at 25 yards and staying on the trail....Then I start hearing this lil "clink clink clink" as it gets louder I realize what it is....ITS A CHAIN ON A HANG ON STAND ON SOME MORONS BACK WALKING IN !!!!!!!!!! banghead Im sure you have guessed that MY ears wernt the ONLY ones that picked this up!!! All I saw was white tails haulin butt the other direction!!! Needless to say I wasnt a very happy camper at this moment in time angry This guy gets about 30 yards from me and begins the nice NOISY work of putting in his beast of a stand, like the deer, CLUELESS of My position (even though I had abided by regs abd posted a 100 sq inch orange band on my tree) SO....I come on out of the tree knowing that there aint a deer within a mile now and ease over to this foolish individual and proceeded to educate him on the PROPER time to arrive on stand!!!!!! I learned my lesson that day as far as hunting public land and made good buddies with alot of people at the gun ranges and archery 3d's (good place to meet nice people and beg for a place to hunt lol )

Had people walk up on me several times over the last few years on public land. Finally joined a lease this year. Did not like paying the fee to hunt with all the other hunting expenses (actually the wife did not like it). haha. Should not have anybody riding up on me this year. Cannot wait!!

Man they should have training classes for people hunting public land with a test afterwards no pass no hunt. I am lucky that I have private land to hunt on never really thought about it much since I have been hunting private land since I was old enough to hunt. But now I appreciate so much more after reading these stories. Good Luck on finding private land to hunt.
