UNEXPECTED TURN....My 30-06

I originally bought my 30-06 to play a role as a back up rifle to other rifles, if a problem arose during a hunt.

The more I "play" with this rifle, the more I find it becoming my "go to" gun.

Funny how things happen, huh?

UNEXPECTED TURN....My 30-06

I own a couple in that caliber and use them all the time as my "go to" rifle as well. Hard to beat....
I use other calibers occationally just to blow the dust off of them, but always go back to the same old favorite in 30-06.
I do have to admit that the 7mm-08 we have is a sweet shooter too though, and is putting the heat on my -06, ha ha.
Take care.

If a person had a 270 Winchester and a 06 there wouldn't be no need for a 280 since all it is - is a necked up 270 or a necked down 06!

It has its place now mind you.

You can shoot a little heavier bullet out of the 280 than you can with the 270 - with a greater amount of accuracy.

A 150 gr bullet is a little heavy for a 270 but is right at home in a 280.
