Under the Radar

In case anyone has any naiive delusions about where this administration stands on gun control.  Maybe by "under the radar" he means things like funneling illegal weapons to Mexico in order to create a crisis to invoke for the purpose of enacting firearms legislation.

anti-gun admin

I've never doubted that this admin is anti-gun. Don't trust this admin as far as I can throw them!

When I first heard about the funneling of illegal firearms to Mexico, I thought the very same thing. Make it look so bad, that new gun control laws must be passed. I would not be surprised if they were manufacturing more crisis situations with firearms, to try and stir up more support for new anti-gun legislation!

Scumbags! The sad thing is that people lost lives over the Mexico mess.

Under the Radar

The whole "under the radar" metaphor really gets under my skin.  After all, the whole point of flying under the radar is to escape detection until it's too late for your opponent to defend himself.  So what does he have in the works?  The only way we found out about Project Gunrunner was a whistleblower inside the ATF.  It makes you wonder, when similar reports are coming out of the Border Patrol saying they're being told to stop arresting illegal aliens.

Never let a good crisis go to waste.  It's looking like somebody's starting to think that if you can't find a crisis, the thing to do is to manufacture one.

The whole Project Gunrunner thing smells a bit too much like the Gleiwitz Incident for my taste.  If it doesn't ring any bells, Google it.

It continues to amaze me how

It continues to amaze me how many sportsmen and gun owners refuse to believe that he has an anti gun agenda.

Under the Radar

Had to bring it up, because there were a couple folks on this forum 3 years ago that vehemently denied Obama had any sort of desire to pursue gun control.  It's tough to believe, but there are sportsmen out there that ignore all the evidence and take the guy at his public word.  If the past couple years have shown anything, it's that it's not a good idea to assume that everyone else has the same understanding of what most of us would consider no-brainers.

I recall those discussions very well expat. One of those members still posts here regularly and has been on this forum a bit longer than I have.  I really amazes me too just how many sportsman take their 2nd Amendment rights so casually and lightly.  I used to contribute to a waterfowling forum that was mostly made up of members from Colorado.  I can't believe how much guff I caught simply for encouraging members to joing the NRA.  I was told in so many words that I was no longer welcome there and was asked to stop selling memberships to the NRA.  I guess most fo those guys thought that as long as their prized O/U shotguns weren't being threatened, then nothing else mattered to them.

Anti-Gun

It doesn't suprise me that our current resident of the White House is anti-gun. Anyone with a lick of common sense could've seen that. Also, how anyone that says they support and love the Constitution could've voted for the current president is beyond me.

Obama an apearances

He's a guy who condisendingly and under-handedly commented during his campaign that when rural folks get scared or feel threatened they cling to their guns and their religion.  Now after the severe weather destroyed many of those rurals folks communities, he's out there acting like he's their best buddy and like he's going to save the day.  Why doesn't he just tell them how he really feels about them.
