Just curious about the turkey hunting on public land if Illinois. I have a couple of young nephews and neices whom i would like to take turkey hunting with me down there. Their parents do not hunt, but the kids show an interest it. These kids are not old enough to hunt themselves...ages 7-10, but I would like to get a gobbler screaming in there face at a young age, lol.
I guess I was wondering about the amount of pressure, access, and turkey populations on the public stuff. If I could find a reasonable lease for turkey season on private land, that may be the best bet and a little easier on the kids.
The northern part of the state is what I'm looking at, the northeast being the best. Any help or tips are appreciated. Thanks
