tubing

So we decided to give the Cache La Poudre hell today with the tubes and some pool rafts. Probably the scariest tubing, or even rafting experience I've ever had. To put it in perspective, what is normally a 2.5 hour run, took about an hour of actual float time. The rest of that was spent trying to rescue eachother. Only put one grown woman in tears from panic. Nobody was at any real risk of death, but it was pretty challenging on a fast flowing river.
Between my girlfriend and myself we lost six beers, if that gives you any kind of indication of the difficulty of the river.
Good times.

Tubing rivers used to be my

Tubing rivers used to be my favorite past time back when I was in high school.  It was always fun once you got used to the water until you came to where a colder stream entered the river then it got real cold again.  When I was in school we use to take the tubes up to a spot on the river about 5 miles away from the high school and then in the afternoon we would run that 5 miles, get the tubes and tube back down to the school.  Our only problems were when someone would fall off of the tube and then he would have to run along the river or get up on the road and run to where he could catch up with the rest of us to get back onto the tube.  Now those were some fun times.

Poudre River

I used to go up and fly fish that river for trout when I lived in Greeley. Boy did I like that river!
