Tripp County SD

Does anyone out there have any experience hunting Turkey in Tripp County SD? Wondering how it was, good areas, etc.

They are there but all private property, really not a place i would go to from out of state to turkey hunt.

I was afraid of that, I had a "hook-up" for some areas there but now that I actually have a tag that has kind of fallen through. That figures...............

From what I hear, most farmers/ranchers hate having them on their land. Knock on some doors, you may be surprised.

100% private in Tripp County. There are a ton of turkeys there and they are not welcomed by the ranchers/farmers. You should have no problem getting permission, just don't ask about deer or pheasants!

I dont know a single farmer or rancher in Tripp or SD in general that doesnt like turkeys on their land. Can add any rancher in wyoming or Montana I know as well.And i know ALOT of ranchers in Central and Western SD.

We have a few on our land and wouldnt mind more, my aunt has a ton right in their front yard and have for as long as I can remember back. They are practically domestic now.Roost in trees above pickups and tractors and drop bombs but other then that they are really well protected (see: well liked) from hunters, wouldnt be much sport in those anyhow.
