An absolutely beautiful morning here this morning. 21* with a heavy frost and very still. I was in my spot by an hour before SR and had seen 5 does by SR, two within 20 yards of my spot (on the ground). About 30-45 mins after SR this fella came by. I thought he was going to trail the does that passed really close by, but he didn't. He took another trail maybe 70 yards away in thick cover. I had to stand to take my shot and when the Marlin Guide gun in .450 spoke he went straight down.
Now, I normally do not shoot bucks with less than 8 pnts and I thought this one was an 8, but he turned out to be a 7. So, no trifecta (3 bucks of at least 8 pnts in one season) this year, yet. No matter, he'll still eat just fine I'm sure!!
But, I still have one more Tennessee buck tag left.
