Tri Pod Stands from Summit

Well last night a friend and I put together three Tri Pod stands from Summit.  Purchased them from Academy sports.  They are nice stands for the cheap price of $99.  You can't beat it.  The link is below.  You know how when you’re putting things together out of a box and you have shipping damage of something is lined up right with the hardware that is provided.  Well Smooth sailing with this stand.  I'm telling you it went together slick.  After the 1st one the 2nd and 3rd we breezed through.  We only built the tops and will place the legs and cross pieces in the field.  They will be easy to transport on a small trailer.  There was only one drawback.  When I was climbing up (now I'm not the most limber) I found it difficult to get under the rail and onto platform because the seat is pretty darn close to the edge of platform.  It’s in the way a bit.  Other than that this stands rocks and will tuck back on the road corners of our property's planted pines where we couldn't hang stands.  Great value.

Very cool Swisher.  Always

Very cool Swisher.  Always fun to have some new toys to play with during hunting season.  Are you going to put canvas around the bottom, or does it come with something like that?

We have cammo to wrap around them.  Stood them all up on Sunday afternoon after chruch.  Placed them in some excellent spots.  These are going to be awesome.

  We usually build our own

We usually build our own stands out of lumber but anytime we could get a quality stand for under a $100 we bought it.  This looks like a pretty good stand with a nice seat.  Does it come with that 16' leg extension or is that a separate purchase?  I can see your point about trying to work your way around the ladder and the seat to get up into this stand.  If I could work that out this would be a great stand for my Dad to get into.  I saw the other day on this web site a guy was advertising his hydraulic lift stand - sits in the bed of your truck and using hydraulics it lifts you 25 feet into the air.  I bit on it and ask for a price and installation.  I have yet to hear back from him... and probably won't if I have to ask for a price.

  Okay now looking closer I

Okay now looking closer I see that the 16' legs are another $120.  I think if I cut off the front rail then Dad could get in easily but then that takes away a nice gun rest.  Anyhow - a nice stand.
