Do any of you have info on tresspass hunts in montana? I found one site that did but cant get an email back with any info from the guy. I will be looking for pronghorn but any other info is welcome. Thanks
There's a lot of BLM and Block Management (publicly accessible private land, some require reservations(no money, just your name on the list), all require you sign in) in Eastern Montana. If you're still planning on hunting around Terry, there's lots of places to hunt without paying. But if you want to have a place to yourself, call FWP and ask their recommendations. Montana probably also has an outfitters and guides association that can steer you in the right direction.
Wind is one of the most crucial variables in any kind of big game hunting. It helps level the playing field between a hunter with a scoped rifle and the game animals being hunted. This is not novel information. Any hunter who has consistent success in the field knows this. I have tried a couple different techniques for keeping track of the wind. Here are a couple.
The most simple and obvious is to just stay cognizant of it. It is amazing how slight of a breeze you can sense if you just pay...
