Transporting firearms

Hello everyone. I am new to this forum. I am planning on a hunting trip to Kansas this fall. What I would like to know are there any states I should avoid as I travel from NY to Kansas?

As long as your gun is in a locked case and ammunition is in a seperate locked ammo box, you should have no problems.
