Camera's make good eats

No, I think I have been very lucky in that aspect. I was in a tree stand in spring and was watching a squirrel eating some oats by the barrel. A black bear came in and chased it around and it ran up a tree. The same tree my camera was mounted on. What's neat is the bear climbed the tree a bit and was resting its back paw on top of the camera. It still has the claw marks on it.

Also have photo's of them licking the camera I'll try to put one here.
I placed a camera a while ago in a great location where I was getting big hits from a black bear. I just couldn't get him on camera. He would find it and knock it to the side. It didn't matter where I hid it, the same thing would happen. I began to think someone was playing with my site but the scat signs were fresh. I stuck up another camera and both would be knocked to the side.

Trail cam bear photos??

Thats awesome meda. Thumbs up Must be an old guy if hes that smart probably hears the camera any little sound and he'll find it forsure. It just shows how smart they really are and how they can use thier paws just as good as we use our hands if not better because of the way that they utilize the back paws also to hold and climb things.

Don't be surprised if you do get a camera chewed up. I have had trail timers all chewed. A friend of mine has a camp and he gets his water from a near by pond so they have a plastic water line that goes thru the woods to the shore and each year he has to replace about 1/2 of it before he can use it. They do like plastic.

I think the main thing is if you touch your camera do it first before you handle your bait. I have found that is what makes them chew quicker (handeling the bait before).
But what ever you touch they will check out.
I have had them climb a tree stand and poop on the seat the first night I put it up.
Yes

Each bear that I have gone after has had a different temperment. But that is what makes it fun.
Good luck.

hahah Ive never had that happen but I also have had sign of them following my trails. The trail used most to get to my site is my own the bears get right on it and walk right to the baitsite then they will check out every where Ive walked. Just never had one actually go into my stand maybe someday I can catch one and take a pic that would be a pic for the wall for sure.

trail camera

I have actually seen a photo of a bear in someone's tree stand years ago. Also saw a pepsi can left on a stand once and was bitten through. I also use rubber boots and at the start of my trail to the bait site I pour old greese on the moss and step into it and then continue up the trail to the bait site. They follow this like bread crumbs.
I still have to pick up a camera I have left in the bush over a month ago -- can't wait to see what photo's are on it. Will post them if they are good looking.

Good idea for sure man must work awesome and great pic lol he looks like hes having fun I have a sow and cubs hitting my bait now too seems to me about 3 cubs but could be wrong looks like 2 of em got chased into a tree yesterday night might be a big mean bruin there hopefully there is waiting for me. Me and a friend got a great way too know if its small bears hittting or big ones and I know theres a big one there because everynight he comes in to open the box for the others and hes smart cause hes outsmarted me a couple times with things I never thought he would do but oh well this time I know hes there and waiting. There is no way and I made sure of this because of prior trys at it but this time we got it down packed and its very simple too just alot of weight and something that cant be moved easy just enough of a hole for them to smell it works the best but I figure he comes in and grabs the good stuff and lets the other bears feed on the rest Cant wait to see him for myself 6 days now Im just getting too eager.
