On another forum, one of the guys that is actually in the show is providing some inside information. The rifles were not sighted in and they had very little time to get an idea of how the rifles were shooting.

Re: Top Shot TV Show
............... but don't you guys think after his first four or five shots that barrel would start heating up so much it would be throwing rounds all over the place. If he would have waited two or three minutes to let it cool instead of throwing thirty rounds at it he might have hit it after his first four misses.
You have a very good point SoCoK.
That very fact is often over looked my many shooters.

Watched the one with the long
Watched the one with the long bows and was really disappointed. They shot the long bow for most of the show and then for the elimination they shot a crossbow...they shoukld have atleast had them shoot a compound bow. A crossbow is just too much like shoot a gun.

The problem is they are not
The problem is they are not going to come up with a top shot. All they are doing is the typical reality show biz. Now if they took each shooter and gave him or her a chance at each weapon and picked the best then it would start to be more interesting. I also agree that switching from a long bow to a crossbow with a scope is getting a little flakly not to mention when they did their pistole final to ride down a zip line shooting targets. Where in the real world would they be able to do that?

Top shot tv show
I enjoyed the show. It's good entertainment like any other reality show that's on tv now a days.

I watched last season and am enjoying this season too. Some pretty embarrassing shooting last season though! Its amazing how much is mental and politics rather than actual shooting competition.

I agree that it really
I agree that it really doesn't have that much to do with a persons shooting ability but the politics of the group. It would be nice to see all of the competitors compete against each other rather than a group against a group. Then you may find just who is the best shot instead of who survived to the end of the show.

I Just recently ran across
I Just recently ran across this show and have seen 2 episodes now and enjoyed them. I watch very little tv and had no idea it had been on so long already. I found it entertaining and will continue to watch some more. As far as reality shows go I would rather watch something like this than some of the other goofy stuff out there.
It is interesting to watch how people perform under stress.
