Took my rifle to the doctor last week

I dropped my rifle off at the gunsmith in Rifle last week for a little work. Ever since I went ot Texas last year the bolt sticks bad after a couple of shots. He thought that the severe dust we were in may have scratched the chamber a little as everything else looks fine. While it's there I'm having a new crown cut and a Vais muzzle brake installed. I know a lot of guys don't like them but I've got one of these on my daughters 30-06 and it works very well without the huge noise increase.

I dhould have it back in a couple of wekks so I'll post a pic when I get it. I'm changing the stock out as well as I don't like the B&C I have on it now.

dumb question but.....have you torn it down and cleaned and degreased every part?  That alone may have fixed it if you haevn't tried that....  In any case I'd be interested in hearing what they diagnos.

Yes the rifle and bolt have

Yes the rifle and bolt have been cleaned very well. But it was worth pointing out as we sometimes overlook the obvious. It should be noted as well that I am only using factory ammo and have tried several brands. After a few shots as the rifle heats up you can almost not open the bolt at all. The rifle is fine cold but will take a hard smack on the bolt with the palm of your hand if too many shots are fired. This only started after the Texas trip after a severe dust storm got into everything, I fired three shots just after the dust cleared and have had the problem since that time. The gunsmith thinks possibly that dust got into the chamber and scratched it and thus the sticking as things swell up with heat. I'll find out soon so hopefully nothing too serious.
