Hopefully you tagged out.

Hopefully you tagged out. I've hunted in units 29 and 30 for mullies but never ran into a Barbary sheep. I was considering putting in for one of these tags since is not too heavy on the wallet. I plan to put in for next year.

You work with Mike don't you?

You work with Mike don't you? I've hunted with him twice now along with Tyler and Clint. And Dave as the cook both times.

yes sir. it tough but I like it. Aoudad is an awesome animal to hunt free range. Every animal we get is a trophy...not just the size but the trophy is the effort put in by the hunter and guides. The hard work put into the hunt is the real trophy. My smallest ewe is my proudest trophy because of how I got her.

I love to hunt them and hope

I love to hunt them and hope to again someday with cost being the limiting factor for now. My first and smaller one was taken on the CDP and a larger one this year on the Devils River. Found a few indian artifacts both times as well.

Say hello to Mike for me and maybe I'll meet you the next time out,

Wade V.

Season is over for me

After chasing these Barbary Sheep for a month it has finally come to an end for me. I hunted hard for weeks but it was all fruitless. I didn't even see a sheep.

I did learn alot and had a good time. This is one of the toughest and challenging hunts I've ever been on, specially on public land. Congrats to all who managed to harvest a sheep.

Here are some pics of the last outing, the hunting area and a nice West Texas sunset.

At least you had a good time

At least you had a good time and gave it your all. It's still a great experience and one learning for the next one.

I know the feeling though as I failed to score on the biggest tag of my life so far a few years ago. After 15+ years of applying I failed to connect on a mountain goat. Not for lack of trying but just didn't come together. I'll get another chance someday.

Great pictures.

Empty Handed

I too returned unsuccessful. We hunted a full 14 days (would have done more if the boss would have allowed it)and only saw 8 sheep. I too saw some amazing country! A little mad at myself for not taking pictures because some of it I never want to see again! Time to start scouting for next year.
