Tomorrow the hunt begins

Tomorrow morning I'll be headed up to New Mexico for my Barbary Sheep hunt. I hope to come back with a nice goat, some good pics and a nice story.

Wish me luck!

I went up to New Mexico to hunt the first couple of days of Barbary Sheep season.

I saw lots of deer and coyotes but no sheep. I came home early since I have to go to work on Mon and Tue (Boooo!!!!). I'll be going back up on Wed morning and hope to at least see something.

I spent alot of time walking the ridge tops and more time glassing the hill sides. I believe I'm doing everything correctly there were just no sheep there at the time.

Here are some pics of the mountains and canyons that I was on during the first couple of days.

Spent the first 3 days of the hunt in Unit 30 as well. No sheep sighted. Came home to rest up and then headed back in the middle of the month for 9 days. Good luck, would be nice to know the areas folks are seeing sheep; honey holes appear to be dry this year!
