tnhoundsman...done any hog hunting lately?

tnhoundsman...whats the boar running been like lately. Seems the weather dipping would help a little. Keeping the dogs cool and making the hunter work to keep warm.

Nice.. Is there usually waterholes they can drink from or do you carry water for them? Do the same dogs run boar and bear? How do they distinguish a difference or is there no boar where the bear are hunted?

there is usually water around for the dogs i take my own drinks in. i run the same dogs they will run whatever i track i show them i want, but if they find a good boar we'll take it as an added bonus. don't find many hogs worth running here while bear season is goin good

You may want to check regulations. I believe I read feral hog hunting is closed during bear season. I may be wrong though.

nope it's open it's the only time you can use dogs on bear outside of a fenced lodge or the special hunts. shouldn't have to worry with that though mainly bear in the area we'll be hunting, haven't found a pig in there in years

Yeah, I didnt really figure the hog population would be heavy with all the bear around.

Oh no. I want the bear. The bear hunt is something I will have a harder time making so Im jumping on the opportunity.

Thanks though

Definately. I was planning on buying two throw aways to bring with me on the hunt and bring my wifes good camera for when we get out of the woods. I know you dont like having your photo taken, and I dont either for that matter, but if I get one youll have to get in on some pics.
