These guidelines are intended to be a minimum requirement for submitting hunting stories and tips, in order to maintain a standard of quality. Contests and prizes vary from month to month, so look for additional posts here on the forums in regards to current contests and/or prizes.
Submitting Process:
1.) Submit a tip or story via the process discussed on the Help & Information page.
2.) Once submitted you will not be able to edit or review your submission. Make sure your submission is in final form before submitting, we recommend using some form of off-line editor to create your submission.
3.) The BGH editors then review the submission. Most submissions are reviewed within a 24 hour period; however in some cases it may take as long as three days. If a large volume of stories and/or tips are received by BGH, it may take longer to publish your submissions. If it will be longer than 3 days, we will notify you that your story or tip has been received and if it will be published. All submissions will be published in the month submitted if they are received by the 24 hour deadline at the end of each month.
Tip Guidelines:
1.) Should be a minimum of 200 words in length.
2.) Photos/graphics supporting your tip are optional.
3.) Tips must go beyond basic hunting knowledge. For instance, submitting a tip that binoculars are helpful to spot game is true, but it is also common knowledge.
4.) Please spell check and review your submission for correct grammar. Failure to use proper spelling and/or grammar may result in rejection.
Photo and Story Guidelines:
1) Should be a minimum of 500 words in length.
2) Must be original, true, and about you, a close friend, or family member.
3) Photo or graphic support is required. Stories without photos will be rejected.
4) Please spell check and review your submission for correct grammar. Failure to use proper spelling and/or grammar may result in rejection.
