But, I don't have one for that zone, so I have to wait all the way till Sept. 1st to deer hunt.....

It's been a while since I've dropped by the site. I'm starting to get the itch though haha. Since moving to NC a few months back I've located a few public game lands to hunt. Me and my bro will be scouting in as soon as the heat wave of a summer gets out of here lol...
anyone in eastern NC got any advice on public lands shoot me a pm

Roanoke River game lands!
Roanoke River game lands! you'll want to put in for a draw hunt as they are limited in the number of hunters and the days of the week the gamelands are hunted. Most are accessible by land, some only by boat. RR game lands will be your best hunting...Most other game lands are hunted to death and you have to compete with these hunters on small tracks of land.
Aaah, the heat wave probably won't be over until well into Oct, possibly Nov.
Watch out for those Martin Co bruins! There are some big bears around there.

yeah man I'm in williamston right on beargrass road... I've been hitting the river hard so I know that portion of the gameland and have been doing my research of when and where to hunt there... Hopefully we will get drawn for the area...
Where abouts are you backpacker? Let me know if your ever in the area and want to get together...

Hey, Alpine. What hunts are you putting in for at Roanoke River GL? I was thinking about Town Swamp and/or Broadneck Swamp on the Lower Roanoke. If you have a boat, try Company swamp. Bigger deer on the N side of the river. There are some clubs on that side of the river adjoining the GL that manage for trophy bucks.
Probably going to put in for Garibaldi and Odom on the Upper RR GL.
