A thought while jogging.

Having a newborn baby is kind of like being in boot camp. You're always having to get up and do unpleasant things at times when you want to be sleeping because somebody is screaming at you.

First, Congrats on that newborn!!!

I know how it is. Walking around in a daze like a zombie from lack of sleep. Getting puked on and pee'd on. I thought the getting pee'd on ended after about 8 months, but I just recently found out it's one of the risk factors when potty training my little boy who's almost three. Ah, nothing like having your pride and joy climb up on you while sitting with him watching cartoons, have him give you a big hug then suddenly feel something warm and wet on you Big smile

But, just be assured, it's much easier and a much more positive experience taking care of a baby than it is performing those same tasks on an older parent through the last month of their life after they've lost a 14 month battle with stage 4 colon cancer. That's something I never want to have to face again. But I've faced the fact that as long as you have loved ones and family, you can't ever walk away from the responsibility of caring for them in illness. I'm sure I'll be faced with that task again at some point later in life, hopefully not for a very long time.

Just do your job right as a parent and be assured your kids will turn out to be great people.

Thanks, Western. Actually the "newborn" turns one today. She's our 2nd and my wife and I are talking about if we want to have a 3rd or not. That's what got thoughts turning to newborns while jogging the other day.

I can't believe that little goober is already a year old.

I like the basic training analogy. That covers a lot of ground from a lot of angles.

Trust me -- they're easy when they're little. It's teenagers that make you crazy. Having teens is like basic training, too -- from the TI's perspective. Can't get 'em out of the rack, can't get 'em to make a bed, can't get 'em to dress themselves right, they can't follow simple directions, are always looking at what their buddies are doing, don't know when to speak up and when to shut up, delude themselves to think nobody's gonna know, and spend their time seeing how far they can bend rules.

I allways pictured sage as being this wizened little old man in the woods somewhere. Why you dirty old coot! Leave that poor young woman alone! You should be ashamed!!! Oops!
I guess people aren't allways what we picture them to be on line. Seriously, congratulations.

That was pretty funny. I'm actually about 8 years older than my wife. And I do get hassled about it at times.
