Red Neck, Would you sell your home and move because your neighbors dogs are a nuisance? I respect the man for trying to find a solution rather than shooting the dogs.

I tried to keep it friendly, but..........

Red Neck.......I was born and raised here in the South, on this farm. And ALL of my ancestors were raised here in the South, in the "country". There are plenty of friendly, intelligent "country" people out here. It's simply a shame that you "ain't one of them". If you want dogs all around you, I'm sure you will fit right in, but I don't want them all around me. And this forum wasn't designed for conflict. I would have respected your opinion, until you turned it into a "fight" ..........

Yes, to answer your question. I had a hard time selling it too. It was because there were 3 very mean dogs living next door. We know we would not be there forever though. My children could not even play outside. We finally sold though & now are back in a rural setting where I grew up.

As for selling a place that I love or that has been a family farm or ??--No. I would not sell. & no I do not believe in shooting a dog---that was my point. These dogs are not going to maul anyone.

The simple solution for dogs running on someone property is to talk to the dogs hunting adjacent to your property, let them know how you feel & I be willing to bet that most hunters would comply with your concerns.

I am simply giving my opinion. Good...Glad you were born & raised here--me too....We just have different views...Looks like we were brought up doing different hunting practices, etc...I find that out a lot--just right here in VA.
What is tradition for me, may not be for you--doesn't make it wrong --it's just different...

Didn't intend to FIGHT---that's not me--- ---just like to stir the pot a little...

You all had my buttons pushed on the dog topic, that's what made me join this forum.

It looks as though this site is informative & it looks as though I can difinetly learn others views & opinions & their reasons for having them.

Thanks for your response!!!! Mr. Cool!

I agree with you that people have different traditions and views to hunting and they, as long as they are legal, should be respected. However, I think it is disrespectful to allow dogs to run on someone elses property without permission and when it interrupts their ability to hunt.

laneboyte, So the landowner must give up deer hunting on his property because someone else has deer dogs and can not control where their dogs run? Does not sound right to me.
