Tim, I don't know that anyone was arguing that the 270wsm wasn't more powerful and flat shooting than the 270, but thanks for the ballistics anyways. Obviously the mags have more oomph than their parent cals., but I don't know that short mags are any more innately accurate than longer cased cartridges (i.e. don't know that a 325wsm is inherintly more accurate than the 300 weatherby).

Tim- I'm with you in that if one has to/can make a 3-400 yard shot, it is better to have more energy, as in your 270 wsm. I'm just saying that I dislike it when people take longer shots than are necessary. If you're going to do it, use a big enough gun, and always follow up.
