I just wanted to say thank you to everybody that responded to my advice needed post. Being on my first Elk hunt in a new area is challenging, but you guys did answer my post and helped a lot. No I did not connect with the bow but due to some advice given I did see a few cows, one 22 yards and no obstruction. Yes I did pass on the shot as I was too deep to even try to take her, I would have drew on it if it was a bull and figured how to get him out later. You guys were great in helping me out along with some of the locals in Silverton who were more than friendly and willing to help out a bow hunter.
