Congrats on a good bow kill!

Congrats on a good bow kill! Thumbs up

What part of Texas do you hunt? We hunted the SW part of Texas a few years back for turkeys and hogs. We killed more hogs than turkeys but we had a great time. Good luck the rest of the season.

Thats a good looking buck,

Thats a good looking buck, congrats. That chicken fried backstrap sounds good. I hope to mak atrip to hunt some whitetails in the next few years. I'm just trying to figure out the cost. Its amazing the prices for a non-res to hunt out of state. I can pobaly do one out of state hunt every couple of years, I dont know if i wanna go to CO for rlk or do a deer hunt somewhere or go to canada for a bear hunt.

Alright, stillrolling...you

Alright, stillrolling...you have to stop talking about backstrap, peppers, onions and gravy...You're making me hungry. LOL

Good luck to you. Did you find any land to hunt around Clayton? How about muzzleloader, do you muzzleloader hunt? Oh, you know you can bowhunt on private land during muzzy season, right?

Go ahead and knock down one of those Johnson County brutes. You have to show some pics. Thumbs up

I hunted near Uvalde last

I hunted near Uvalde last fall - was a fun hunt

Texas style is definitely a different kind of hunting than what I'm used to, but it is effective - I saw more deer in a day and a half than I usually see in several seasons out west

I saw some really big bucks, too - but I wasn't on a "trophy" hunt

here's a pic of the management buck I got

That's a good buck,

That's a good buck, orduckhunter. That's a great buck to have on the wall. Management buck or not, that had to be a fun hunt in Texas. :thumbsup1:

I would go to Texas to shoot a management buck like that if it wasn't too expensive. What's the cost of culling a management buck there?
