Congrats on a nice hunt.  I

Congrats on a nice hunt.  I think that it is always better when you get to a place that these computers and cell phones don't work.  It keeps you mind where it should be.

So are you going to get him mounted or just do a European mount on him?

I know about those cactus.  We always compare war wounds when we get back to our room for the night when we hunt Arizona.

I'll be doing a european

I'll be doing a european mount as usual with this one. I thought about a shoulder mount for a minute but decided against it. I need the money for tag applications and he's not really that big. About 22" long but they can go over 35" for a real trophy. I like the euro's anyway and take up less space.

By the way I ended up only taking a 143 yard shot after preparing all summer for 400+ as that is supposed to be the normal ranges encountered.

Very nice !

Wade,

Congrats on a great looking sheep ! Thumbs up They make a beautiful mount, but the euro will be very cool also. When you do your euro remember that you will have to cut off part of the skull that goes up inside the horn off so the horns will go all the way back on.

This year I'm putting for Barbary Sheep in New Mexico. If I don't get drawn I'll probably book a hunt here in Texas.   Thumbs up

If you wan't some info on my

If you wan't some info on my guide send me a pm later. I'll give you the good and the bad as there is a little of both but overall a good bunch of guys. He's out of El Paso also btw.

We paid 1750 each for his poorest property and hunt so did pretty good. His prices go up from there depending on what you want or actually even cheaper unguided but you get less acreage of the ranches to hunt on. I would guess he saves the best for the higher paying guys.  He said in a good year we should have seen more daily than what we saw the entire trip.

Congratulations!

I look forward to you telling me about this hunt on the phone or in person.

I'm sure the pictures don't do it justice as the country looks outstanding and very challenging.

Finished product. Tough job

Finished product. Tough job on this one for sure. Makeing a custom stone plaque for it as well in the shape of Texas if it comes out as planned.
