Ok - in case anyone else is interested that is how it works. The system just looks back to the time of the prior two new threads so in my case, my lack of due diligence writing down the times of my last posts cost me the potential 400 points for the day.
Mike, by obsessing about this on the open forum, you are reaffirming the contest naysayers that state that all members care about are the points and prizes, and requires that BGH dangle a carrot to get any participation. I of course don't believe that's true. I've watched & moderated the forum for many years and members come and go, regardless of whether there is a contest or not.
Now about the points, I'm confident the system treats all posts equally. I would say post new topics as you would like to, and see what happens.
