The numbers are now in. For the opening weekend of bow, Tennessee hunters harvested 2800 deer, with about 40% being rack bucks. 69 turkeys were also taken by bow hunters. My county was 3rd in deer harvest and #1 in turkeys taken with bow.
Sound like a successful weekend, and you must be smack dab in the middle of it! We expect nothing less than 8-10 deer, with a couple of 180 inch bucks in your future!!!!

The stats for the first two weeks are now in with almost 8400 deer taken and still almost 40% bucks. My county is now #2 in deer harvest and also #2 in turkey harvests with the bow as well. I'm still not sure if I'll be out in Tennessee before early M/L season. Kentucky early M/L season is this weekend and the weather looks decent!
In the winter months, when the tempurature drops well below freezing, it gets harder to stay warm enough to be comfortable.
