The man stands on stage and dances with spandez (or not) on, screaming at the top of his lungs for a living. Yeah I guess he could be considered a little in your face. I like him.

If one really sits and listens to him talk or debate hunting, guns and freedom of speech rights he is really well spoken and I have seen him tear apart some liberal intellectuals who came at him thinking he was some dumb redneck. By the time he was done stating facts and direct quotes the one dude just sat there and finally said "umm” Is he wild? Yup can be, in your face? Yup but you don’t have any doubt that he means what he says and it makes people listen. His youth programs are incredible and make the NRA youth programs look like amateurs. He may not be ideal to some but I have seen him step up to the plate and changes allot of people views good bad or others wise. I also never seen anyone else stand their ground in open with a charging cape buff and calmly empty .40 clips into it without leaving a mess in their pants. Like him or not he does a heck of allot of good that isn’t shown so much in his TV show as he is being a "showman" on TV.
Kudos to "Uncle Ted"
"There are hundreds of millions of gun owners in this country, and not one of them will have an accident today. The only misuse of guns comes in environments where there are drugs, alcohol, bad parents, and undisciplined children. Period. "

I did like his interview with the French. He put them in their place very quickly......and politely. I laughed about it for days.

Honesly Don,
Do you really believe there are undecided pepole out there? I absolutely do not know anyone who did not make up their mind on hunting at a very young age. Even it they did not grow up around it, everybody I know has a belief on wether its right or wrong. Even if there are enough swaying minds pinching the air and waiting to be told what to think to make a difference I don't believe that would be an issue.Ted Nugent may be in your face but I will bet you he will convert way more than he would repulse. He appeals to us young bucks and honestly those are the people we need to attract. Too many young men spend their weekends in the bar instead of in the woods. Thats where we will lose, not by offending the aging Bing Crosby fans, but by failing to attract the Metallica generation. They won't be attracted by conventional hunting programs.
They want some flash, some pizzaz, some blood, an yes some 'in your face'.

Wait a minute, I'm an aging Bing Crosby fan! Yes

Actually I do think there are a lot of, maybe not undecided but fence walkers. They have no reason to be involved,,,,yet. You live in Idaho. Go back east to some of the major cities. That's where the population base is, there and californis in the major metro areas.

I don't know this Ted Nugent, I just don't believe in your face does any good other than to get in your face. The only thing I have to judge this guy by is a photo of him playing a gitar in a pair of cowboy boot's and in a flag shirt shooting arrows at a muslem on stage. That and what I've heard here about him.

Here's to Bing Crosby,,,,,and Pat Boone! Thumbs up

Using machine guns as props, Nugent, 58, appeared onstage as the final act of the inaugural ball wearing a cutoff T-shirt emblazoned with the Confederate flag and shouting offensive remarks about non-English speakers, according to people who were in attendance.

"I think it was a horrible choice," GOP strategist Royal Masset said. "I hope nobody approved it."

What's funny about this article he offend the GOP(republicans) not the so called "lefties". And shouting offensive remarks about non-english speakers at the Governor's inaugural ball in Texas (alot of Mexicans)that's even funnier!!! What? He's not the sharpest pencil in the bunch.

I do believe he makes a good point to the anti-hunter about killing animals. When he said we killed more animals with urban sprawl than hunting itself!

IMHO he doesn't speak for me, there is a better way of proving a point than in your face approach he takes!! My 2 cents.

Welcome travisville! Its good to have you here on BGH! Most of us are pretty low key. Big smile

After reading the linked thread, I was glad to see I'm not the only one that finds 'ole Ted a bit over the top. He's a showman, which is ok if you view his antics as pure entertainment. In my opinion he is not a good spokesperson for hunting or bowhunting. Guess I'm with Don... I'm just an aging Bing Crosby fan.

It has nothing to do with being politically correct. Its about not being rude and crude. Just because you're a star does not exempt you! Do we really need to piss off the antis even more? Give them even more fuel? And yes I believe there are lots of people who don't give hunting a second thought... until the antis bring up something crazy or stupid to make us all look like idiots. People like Ted give the antis lots of good ammo!

Im 35 and he was before my time, lol Actualluy i dont really care awhole lot for his music, I didnt become a fan of his till i heard him debate some liberals. Besides being a rockstar(aging or not he STILL fills stadiums) he also was a deputy sherriff in mich. He also is one of the few rockers who refrained and warned kids against drugs and drinkin meanwhile pat boone did hang out with and record a metal album with known smack addict.
Its funny though as many here dont like him and say so admitting they dont know anything about him, he sure has got alot of a stir goin wich i feel is EXACTLY what we hunters need to do rather then setting back letting treehuggers holler for all to hear we need to start standing up and speaking out as well becuase as it is if only one side is heard(thier side), its a one sided loss for us.
