All I saw this morning was a cat and I got some target practice on it (I was ready to leave and its legal to shoot feral cats).  I nailed it a tiny bit behind the shoulder and it fell down then stared at me and then crawled away about 8 yards...Tough little cat.  My rage cut it skin 4 inch's but the actual entrance hole was littler but they did a good job. Oh and I used a duller broadhead that I used last year.

Last night at 4 I got in my stand and at 4:25 this doe fawn shows up.  It was smelling around for a while broadside but there was a limb in the way so I couldnt shoot.  When she started to walk out so I could shoot I drew back and then she stopped and turned around, so I let down.  She started to walk back the way she came so I drew again then she stopped and turned around again.  Then she walked out into the bean field quartering away a little, my sight was set on 25yrds but it was a 30yrd shot so I aimed high on her back and shot.  She ran around 50 yards and crashed.  Here she is.

Great job on the doe. Looks like you will be eating some backstraps. I can't wait to take down my first doe this year.

Last night I went out and

Last night I went out and after 5 minutes of sitting a doe walked in about 45 yards away.  Then she walked around 55 yards for a while and ate beans.  After about 30 minutes she went back in the woods and then I turn to my left and 5 turkeys are on a trail about 50 yards away.  In about 5 minutes they are gone and thats all that I saw last night.

Finally

Well guys finally connected this morning! Took my spot just before light where I've seen bucks almost every time I go, just never worked out yet. But today I went a little closer to the beds and waited. sure enough I hear them feeding just on the other side of these bushes for a while. It's just getting light and one steps out in front of me, just over 20 yrds. puts his head down to graze, and I pull back. He looks up but doesn't move. I release, and miss bad. I don't know. Maybe could barley see my sights. So bummed! He runs a little, then goes into the bushes where he beds. But I knew there was another still there, so I stayed put. The other was quiet for about 10 minutes, then feeds again on the other side of the bushes for a few minutes before walking out in front a little farther than the first, 30yrs. He stops, I draw, thump!! He kicks and runs off. My first bow hit on a deer! I couldn't tell how many points, I just saw he was legal, and know there are big bucks here. I wait about 20 minutes and look for the trail. Found a steady drip and splats. took about 30 minutes to find him. He ran about 100 yrds through the brush. When I found him, I saw a awesome 4 points with eyeguard. I flipped him over and saw....nothing. Ha. The Irony. First bow kill for deer, biggest  for me yet, and it's only half there. Oh well. I'm so excited for him. Good size, too. Hit a little back, gut to lung, but did the job.
