Good luck to everyone else out there. I will be going out in the morning hoping to nail another doe if I can get off work early enough. If not I won't get back out until Monday.

Deerhunter30, how is it going
Deerhunter30, how is it going out there inIowa. I haven't heard anything from you lately. Saturday morning I had a 5 pointer messing around my stand for quite a while. I will now be going out again Monday evening. I will be trying to get another doe. I will be sitting in the stand I call my doe killing stand. It will be after another rainy day so if it stops raining when it is suppose to I'm sure I will be successful again. My last night of work is Monday night. Then I will be off for 3 straight weeks. I can't wait. It will be a great 3 weeks in the woods!!!!! Good luck to everyone else going out. Shoot a big one for the team!!!!!

Sorry I havent been on
Sorry I havent been on lately. I have just been hunting or working lately. I try to spend all the time I can in the woods.
I havent got my doe yet. I have seen a few nice nice bucks but to far away to shoot. Wont be able to get back out till friday. This past weekend i started using my rattlers and grunt calls and I had a couple small bucks come running in but nothing worth shooting. The rut should be coming on very soon and I have some time off work to get the stand. I am pretty confident that I will be getting a nice one with the stand I have picked for buck hunting. Lots of scrapes and rubs all around it.
I willtry to get online a little more and keep you guysupdated. Good luck on shooting your next deer.

I just talked with the
I just talked with the landowner of one of the properties I hunt on. He told me about this monster buck he has been seeing every morning and evening. There is a low spot in his front yard about 80 yards away from his house. He said alot of does cross through this low spot both in the mornings and evenings. He said he has seen this buck hanging out in this low spot like 5 days straight now. I will be putting up a stand in this spot tomorrow and hopefully my wife or one of my kids will be able to nail this big boy. At the least it will be a great doe killing stand.

I have some really bad news
I have some really bad news guys. I no longer have that nice plot of private land that I was hunting. The landowner quit hunting a couple of years ago but we stayed real good friends so he continued to let us hunt it. Than just out of the blue my brother and I came out of the woods saturday morning and he decided that he did not want anyone to hunt his land anymore. I tried to talk to him being the rut is just getting started to see if we could just hunt through the rut but nothing worked, even offered him a nice chunk of change. So we pulled our stands and said nothing else to the landowner. Come to find out that he was not letting us hunt anymore because he was mad that we would not work with him on saturdays during the rut. (this guy is are old boss and we was helping him out on weekends and whenever we could) So after we pulled off he decided to call Monday morning and tell me that we could come back. It was already to late. We have a small farm that we are going to finish are season off and than use the summer to try to get some more private land. I can't take the chance of getting turned away from the rut again next year so we decided to cut are losses and move on.
If you new this guy as well as i do you would totally understand why I wont go back. We will find some more land and I thinkthat we should pull off the season on this farm that we are now hunting. Wehave shot bucks off this land before but it is just not a big plot of land, justa few acres.
As for the other land that we used to hunt, I will no longer talk to this guy and we will probably never be friends. That may sound like a little much but if that guy was a truefriend he would have never done what he did.
Hopefully I can salvage the season out on this farm. Wish me luck, I am gonna need it.

Sorry to hear that. It
Sorry to hear that. It sounds like he missed your labor more so and that is why he came back and wanted you to still hunt his property. I don't blame you for cutting your losses and moving on. You will not regret it and most likely will be far better off next year than had you stayed. Good luck on your remaining hunting time.
