Tea Party an invention of the Right Wing Super Rich

The term for a top down organising event claiming to be a grass roots effort is Astroturfing.

Turns out the whole event of Santelli's rant and the supposed "grass roots" tea parties are a PR campaign of the Republican branch of the Republican Party. The same mega rich who hate the inheritance tax.

I can understand the angst. I'm sure they've come to the realization that they're looking at a good 30 years or more of political winter. Reading the tea leaves seems to point in worse and worse directions for the extreme rich and the extreme right.

I only wish they'd done a little research on their slogans first. Hard not to laugh but hard to even allude to in public. I do see the smile on the faces of newscasters when they say the word teabagging.

Santelli and CNBC have completely ignored the whole thing, embarased to have been used? Santelli looking for new employment?

Quick! Put on the tinfoil hat! Black helicopters! Rich people! It's all a conspiracy! Where are my potatoes?

The problem with political lemmings like you is that you assume conservatives are lemmings, too. So you're desperate to come up with some sort of conspiracy to explain how we think the way we do -- because you don't believe human beings are capable of forming their own opinions.

Last year, the Wall Street Journal exposed Freedom Works for similarly building “amateur-looking” websites to promote the lobbying interests of Dick Armey, the former Republican Majority Leader who now leads Freedom Works and is a lobbyist for the firm DLA Piper.

Freedom Works has several domain addresses — some of them made to look like they were set up by amateurs — to promote the protests

While working to promote Social Security privatization, Freedom Works was caught planting one of its operatives as a “single mom” to ask questions to President Bush in a town hall on the subject.

The Koch funded group is called American Solutions for Winning the Futures the same folks that brought you drill drill drill, great for hunting.

If I were them I'd be terrified also. It's been obvious ever since mid October what was up.

Busted? Oh, yeah...a secret cabal of the super rich is brainwashing millions of Americans into organizing simultaneous demonstrations across the nation. You post wild conspiracy theories and it's ME that's busted? Look in the mirror, pal, unless the phantom men in black standing behind your reflection frighten you.

Here's another one for you -- a professional meteorologist has proven that secret forces are using giant electromagnetic fields to manipulate weather patterns in a battle for global domination. Katrina was caused by the Japanese Yakuza, you know. What?

BTW -- the guy used to be a TV meteorologist in IDAHO -- potato capitol of America.

No super conspiracy. Simply an astroturf by the same folks that have been doing this forever. Funny actually, last gasp by the extreme right super rich.

I didn't post links to someone talking about it but to the orgs themselves. It's clear to see that they are directing a supposed grass roots PR stunt. Like other faux down from the top events it might not recieve much resonance.

I notice you say and reference nothing to show this isn't the case. If you're not going to say anything substantive why not watch your favorite youtubes.

And you've posted nothing to disprove the potato conspiracy or the weather war theory, either.

Seriously...so a Republican runs Freedom Works. Yawn. His name is on their board of directors with Steve Forbes. This is like shooting fish in a barrel. Shall we talk about George Soros and his political activity?

Really...you've scraped the bottom of the barrel plenty of times before -- to include recently posting photoshopped pictures as supposed proof. But conspiracy theories? That's low even for you.

I often wondered why many Potato researchers had that Russian accent., now I see the Russian connection, IE; Vodka, Spudnik, etc

Potato Asteroid explains almost every great mystery known to man such as the Pyramids, Bermuda Triangle, Tunguska Forrest Blast(an obvious attempt to create Potato spawning site, in Russia no doubt), The disappearance of the Mayan Civilization, Bigfoot, UFO's Nessie ...the list can go on and on.

Watch your every step people, those Potatoes have eyes everywhere.

And they are a well staffed well funded organisation specializing in creating fake grass routes campaigns. And they've done most of the organising and funding of the supposed grass routes tea party baloney. So the whole tea party thing is top down, not bottom up.

Maybe you'll like an Acorn thread better.

I think it's pretty funny too, especially the choice of a sex act as a symbol of this brave uprising. Or the whole idea of taxation without representation. There's representation, it's just that it represents the majority of each congressional district. I don't call that tyrany, I call it losing an election.
