T/C Omega load Advice

Just got a T/C Omega, have been shooting T/C Contender. I'm looking for advice on a good starting point for a mule deer load. Nevada is an iron sight only state and my self imposed maxium shot is 150 yards. I have three weeks to get use to the gun. Also, I have a lb of "clean shot " powder and have gotten conflicting reports on the product. Any comments?

Thank you

T/C Omega load Advice

I shoot TC Shockwave 250gr in front of 2 pellets (50gr) 777 in my Omega and have it sighted in at 100yds (the range I limit myself to)...

I have a TC Omega in .45

I have a TC Omega in .45 caliber.  I've never found anything it liked or was consistent with.

Best load for it is a "for sale" sign.

I have a TC Z5 Omega in 50

I have a TC Z5 Omega in 50 cal. I shoot 100grns of BH209 and 250 gr Barnes sabots. I get 2" groups @ 100yrds and 4" groups @ 200 yrds. Also use Nikon BDC scope on it. Very accurate and reliable MZ IMHO.

I have a tc omega that i was

I have a tc omega that i was punching double holes with at 100 yards.  of course that is with a bench rest and 3x9 Nikon scope.

120grains of Blackhorn209 and 250gr shockwaves.  at 200yds bullets were drifting quite a bit with even a slight wind.  The 300grain shockwaves helped slightly at longer range.  4-6" groups at 200 yards.

This year I will be in Colorado where there are no scopes or sabots.  I just bought a box of

Hornady FPB 50 cal 300 grain bullets.  They say they are accurate at high velocities.  I believe I should be around 2100fps.  I will give an update after the range.  I am hoping it will be someting in the next 2 weeks.

I also will be shooting 300

I also will be shooting 300 gr FPB's over BH 209 in Colorado this year. Shooting a Vortek UL with a peep rib sight and 95 gr of powder. I managed 1.25" off the bench at 100 with a scope. Shot for the first time this weekend with a peep sight and I love it. Started at 20 yds to sight in, 2 shots touching. Moved out to 50 with and kept all shots within a couple inches, shot 1 at 120 yds a few inches low and right, but very impressed. Still much more practice to do, can't wait til September.

I was finally able to get to

I was finally able to get to the range yesterday with the new peep sight and 300 grain FPB.

The bullets loaded nicely down the barrel of my TC Omega.

At 25 yards I was double punching holes.
At 50 yards I was shooting 1" groups
At 100 yardsa I was shooting 3" groups and 1 flyer 6" off center(may have been my shooting).

Overall not bad considering I had to take off my scope and change bullets.

I don't feel cmfortable shooting out over 75 yards.

You guys know something I don't because I have never ever found a load my TC Omega likes.

I've given up and am trying to sell it.

Try loose powder and pack the bullet till it seats all the way. Are you using a rest?
