I recently purchased a TC Omega prior to this years muzzleloader season. So far I have taken a doe and a trophy 8 pointer with it. It is by far one of the nicest shooting weapons I own. I set it up with a Tasco World Class 3x9 scope with see-through mounts so I can still use the TruGlo sites. It is an unbelieveable firarm.... the best investment of made in years for hunting equipment.

Big E check page #7 " 2004 Abstracts " During shotgun season" paragraph 3 right hand column about hinge-action muzzleloaders. Same page same column down 4 paragraphs "muzzleloader season" hinge -action muzzleloaders are not legal. Hate to see you lose the weapon and or get fined.

Wow.. that's good to know. I just thought the break opens like the Encore were not legal here. I know at least a dozen guys who hunt with the Omega here. I'll have to let them all know.
Thanks

It's amazing to me how many of the local gun stores here in Colorado carry almost nothing for muzzleloaders except gear that is ILLEGAL to use for hunting here! I was in a Galyans the other day and the only bullets they sold were sabots. Sabots are illegal in Colorado. They had a couple of tins of Pyrodex and row after row of Pyrodex pellets. Pellets are illegal in Colorado.

I am sure that there are a lot of folks who walk into a store like this and just assume that if it's being offered for sale then it must be legal. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS ASSUMPTION TO MAKE!

Personally, if a store is offering hunting gear that is not legal to use for hunting in the state that it's being sold in, I think the law should require them to keep these items in a separate section and clearly mark that these things are illegal.

I agree. I purchased mine in a local sporting goods store. Most of the people who I know who have purchased the same muzzleloader all hunt here in MA. Interesting. Retailers should let us know what is illegal in the state of sale.
