Taxidermy USA.

So, did anyone catch the show last night?  It's the one Critter gave us a heads up on.

It was a pretty interesting show.  I had to chuckle, even though it's not too funny, at the lady who wanted her 20 year old housecat stuffed.

I can't believe the money some of those customers must have had.  The bear and the elephant guy.  the elephant/lion guy paid $23,000 for the two mounts.  Then the bear guy, his trophy room looked like the natural history museum or something.

Anyway, it's worth a watch.  I may watch it again.

I was hoping that they would

I was hoping that they would of gotten a little bit more into the mounting of the animals themselves instead of what they showed.  That along with the drama that all of these kind of shows need now to survive, or so they think.  It would also be nice to let the viewers know just what the real time frame is from bring in the animal to the time that it is ready to go onto the wall.  From watching the show they gave the impression that it was only a couple of a days to get a deer mount done.

I would of liked to seen some information on field care along with how to cape out an animal, but they what do you expect out of reality TV now days?  Sad to say I'll probably watch it next week also and lower my expectations a little.

I agree critter, I didnt see

I agree critter, I didnt see the show but i would like to see a show that had more how to involved. But that wouldnt be good for ratings, I get sick of seeing all this drama crap on TV. Even some of the hunting shows on TV are more like a soap opera.  I guess thats why i dont watch very much tv anymore. I think i will check this show out just to say i saw it. it would be nice though if there was more "how to".

Taxidermy USA.

I only saw part of the show.  I missed the elephant.

The woman and her house cat...NO WAY!!

The Grizzly and Wolverine...VERY NICE!  I would have liked to have seen more of his trophy room.  Maybe they showed it earlier and I missed it.

Overall, I thought the Discovery Channel did a pretty fair job on that show.

I'm sitting on my sofa right

I'm sitting on my sofa right now shooting  bow into the dining room, watching that show "Mounted in Alaska" its not to bad, it get into somewhat detail, still i would like to see some more how to stuff but I'll take it for what its worth. The shop owner seems to be a pretty down to earth guy and its a family owned shop, right noe he is working on a polar bear, it turned out great. Seeing this show kinda makes me want to learn how to do it, its quite the craft and takes a lot of skill.

I didn't think the polar bear

I didn't think the polar bear was all that good.  The mouth, painted black like it was, looked unnatural to me.

I actually watched a show a couple of days after he did the polar bear and made it a point to look at the mouth.  It looked just like what he did, I was suprised in that I didn't think that it would of been as black as what he painted it.  But then I guess that is the reason he is the pro and got the job.
