Taxada Island, been there?

has any one been there or hunted it? trying to plan a fall 2006 hunt for mules there, for the youth only season. I would like to know how to get there - via the cheapest route. are there any recomendations as to a cabin / outfitter? Are there potentially as many deer there as I am lead to believe; believing this because the bag limit is 3 (!)?

There are lots of deer there but most are quite small.
Take BC Ferries up from Horseshoe bay. We used to stay at a small campground, but I can't remember the name.
I've heard that some archery clubs will let you use their tree stands for a small fee, but that's just what I heard.

Bowen Island is closer, but is a bit of a hassle.

Yes the deer are small, but there are lots of them. The only way to get there is by ferry to the sunshine coast and then again from Powell river to Blubber Bay on Texada. $60-75 for ferries.
Heavy thick coastal cover, the best bet is covering lots of road and/or trails. I have a couple of friends who limited out there the last two years in a row and they cruise on their quads.
