T-Minus 32 hours......

Headed to Vermont tomorrow evening to hunt the whitetail opener with my Dad.  Only going to be there 3 days, but it's good to be out there with him any chance I get.

It's been 10 years since I got a deer, so first legal critter will get a 30-30 between the ribs, hopefully!

I'll update from the woods if I get a chance.

I wish you the best of luck with cool crisp, frosty mornings and cool still afternoons! I hope you see some deer and take home some great venison. But, most of all, I wish you a wonderful time hunting with your Dad. Thumbs up

Thanks! Supposed to be 32 in

Thanks! Supposed to be 32 in the morning, with a high of 45.  Going to sit all day the first day, as the bucks are out and moving.  Dad found 6 big scrapes in the orchard he hunts.  Getting excited...... Wink

Good luck with your hunt my

Good luck with your hunt my friend and the time with your dad. I have learned to appreciate even more how much I get to hunt with my dad from all the comments made by you and others here about how lucky I am. I admit I took it for granted before in the years past. I look forward to every hunt with him now and hopefully my son will appreciate the time with him as well and continue to hunt with me the way we are now. I know as a dad I don't even want to think about not sharing a season with him. Good luck again and I really think this is going to be a good one for you.

By the way is this buck only or do you get a chance at any does also?

Good Luck

Luck to ya!

Spent the last 3 weekend with my Dad Hunting up in the Adirodacks.  Just put him and Mom on a plane heading south for the winter on Tuesday.  Dad is 83 and plagued by medical isses but it would kill him not to be able to get out into the woods with a gun during deer season.  He doesent get up to early any more and cant go far (we dont kill a whole lot these days) but it is truely a gift for me to keep getting him out.
