Oklahoma Goats

Well one difference is the Oklahoma tag was covered by my Lifetime license and didnt cost anything. Another thing is I drove 5 hrs to hunt instead of 18 to SD. And the 3rd thing is there are only 60 draw tags so there are limited hunters and some old bucks. Plus its something that most people will never do. Killing a Goat in Ok. that is.

i guess im spoiled!! i drive

i guess im spoiled!! i drive 30 minutes to hunt goats up to 16 inches(most are 13-14), 45 to chase elk (state record typical is 376), my deer(155 inch 2 years ago) bow stand is literally in view of my deck at home as is my meriam turkey roost. costs me 25 dollars to shoot 2 goats, 20-25 per deer and i think turkey is 15 or 20$.

but i am driving 10 hours to hunt colorado elk in a month!

god job on the goat!

Flyguyskt, I'm kind of

Flyguyskt,

I'm kind of getting from your two posts that your running down our success.  I don't really know why.  You're right we could come to your states and harvest an antelope this year.  But what makes our antelope special is that you could put in for OKLAHOMA and not draw for at least 20 to 25 years.  That makes it a rare tag.  How about letting a couple of OKIES enjoy their success and brag a little bit without you bashing it in your informative way.  Good luck on your 2010 hunts.

im NOT running it down at

im NOT running it down at all?!!?! i love to hunt anywhere i can i honestly didnt know that this tag was a big deal! for me i just expect to get a 3- 4 goats a year.

i guess it would be like us getting a tag to hunt bighorns or elk in custer state park, it is a once in a lifetime tag.

AND if you read my posts i said good job on the goat!!

so AGAIN good job on the goat cool good for you sounds like you had fun and were successful. NOW if you want to shoot some more goats come to south dakota and get tags!
