Success ! (Tagged out !)

Well, Its official. I just drew a awesome Oklahoma tag. I'll be pronghorn hunting in Oklahoma. Less than a 1% chance of getting drawn even with my prefrence points. I'll be hunting Texas county.       9-9-2010 to 9-12-2010. I'd love some advise if anyone has any.

P.S. I've hunting pronghorn a few times in Wyo. So I'm farmiliar with them.

Now the fun begins the scouting trips and then the anticipation of the hunt its self.  Then comes the hunt.  Sounds like fun.

Cool

You have to love these rare tags - everyone hunts in WY.  How many people can say they have hunted OK for antelope - nice job and enjoy.

Yeah and the nice thing is

Yeah and the nice thing is the unit I drew has only been hunted for 3 years. People with the Oklahoma Wildlife department said there are plenty of mature bucks. (for what thats worth.) So I'm headed up there around the first of August to scout and try to secure some private land access.

This is the first tag like this that I've had and I'm super excited.  I'm feeling a little presure knowing that if I dont get the buck I'm after in 4 days. I'll never get a chance to try for a speed goat again in Okla.

Congratulations on your draw.

Congratulations on your draw. I drew a pronghorn tag as well except in Cimmaron County.  I just turned 37 and have been in putting in since I was 18.  So I was pretty shocked.  Me my wife and daughter went up to scout last weekend.  I got permission to hunt on two ranches in different parts of the county.  We saw a lot of animals and some nice bucks.  One of the ranchers pretty much said it would be a done deal.  Only water for eight miles.  I hope he is right.

I don't know if you have already went up to scout but those ranchers don't care for pronghorn to much so acces should not be a problem.  Let me know how it goes.
