Had a friend send me pictures of a cougar on their deck last snow storm and that was in southern nova scotia so cougars in NB for sure. BTW, officially NS has no cougar so it must have been a mirage they took a pic of. Yes

I found this pic after a long search, supposedly taken somewhere in Virginia a few years back. If you blow up both pics the deck boards are suspiciously similar as well as paw markings on the animals( I have no idea if paw markings are an identifiable characteristic or not).
The Virginia link is http://images.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=http://www.btcent.com/Cougar-Wells...

I don't believe that the cougar still roams Nova Scotia, but many others do. It sure makes for some interesting discussion regardless.

Think

I don't know about the deck boards, but the paw markings don't look the same to me....in the first (NS?) cat the paws have solid black triangular patches; in the second (Va) cat they're not as pronounced.

Incidently the area i mention has a good deer population and i usually see some in the area i mention in fact i saw half dozen out in an open field pawing at the snow looking for feed just a couple of hours before on my trip down , we have had a lot of snow this year and freezing rain causing multi layering , the deer don't move well in this but it's heaven for coyotes and such they can run on top i believe our deer are going to take a beating this year i hope some of the woodlot owners take the time to fell a few good trees to give them something to help see them through the rest of winter. ps and don't forget to lop off the branches so they can get at them

I'm sorry but I got to call BS on this one. Shame on You! This same pic has been making the rounds for a couple years now at least. I have seen it a few times on forums, had it sent to me in an email also.

Snopes says this about it and I agree.

Interesting... I got the email from a reliable person so I'll have to investigate more. Think

The link you posted had the same word for word email except for the place. I wonder if it is some sort of email worm that sends out to your contact list? I'm sure the person who sent it to me would not have sent it to intentionally fool anybody.... strange!

Internet is a geat place. That cat picture has been claimed to have been taken from Alberta to the southern states and 50 places inbetween. Hard to believe anything on here anymore.
