Yeah, I still travel over two hours east to find any wild ones. I see more and more closer to town, but surely no land open to hunt them. Too few of them anyways. With the drought we have been having, I am really suprised how many I have been getting into this year. Guess I am just hitting the right spots.
Very nice! We have some special hunts out here with the juniors, family, and ladies hunts, where they release birds. I used to work in that area, so I'd sit there and watch the dogs work. Always fun to see them getting into it.
Want a quick and inexpensive call for Moose? Take an empty 32 ounce coffee can, and make a small slit in the bottom, only about a quarter inch. Then, take one of those really big red rubber bands, the ones that go around big folders. Cut the rubber band to make one long piece.
Now, thread one end of the band and tie a knot on the outside of the can so it won't pull through. Cut the band off on the other side so it is even with the top of the can.
