Still have their antler's

Can't believe that most of the bucks I have pics from over the last week and half still have their antlers. Here are a couple pics, hoping they finally lose them at my feed site on the wire I have set up to try to knock them off as they feed.

Setting up that wire is clever. Let us know if it works.

Rookie,

Did you have any luck collecting antlers? I attached a pic of matching set
found south of Ottawa KS a few weeks ago. Thats my hunting buddy in the pic. Theres a total of 13 points and he's still out there. BTW we both live in Olathe so you are pretty close.

Del
Those are in great shape for finding them this late. What a find Thumbs up , and to have both sides is a bonus.
I found one couple months ago that the mice and squirrels had had started on, but was a nice shed. Great to know those big boys are in the area Yes
I see you're in Olathe, I'm just west of you around Lawrence.

Redrider,

They are nice, the kid that found them did not say what month and we did not think to ask. Dan (in pic) is a taxidermist, he bought them from the guy and plans to mount them on a cape. We went turkey hunting, stopped at a farm to buy eggs and there they were hanging on the side of the barn. That is a really nice antler in your pic. Too bad it got chewed up. BTW we are happy about the changes in deer hunting regs. In the past we bowhunted only. Now we can do it all which brings my flintlock longrifle into play. I got a 10 pt with an arrow last year.

I think the regulation changes are great. I won't be using a muzzleloader, but I may bowhunt earlier and if I don't take the big one with the bow, I may break out the rifle and take a buck. In the past, I've taken does during rifle season as I like to hunt with a rifle too.

Also, I get invitations from people to come hunt with them but I couldn't accept because they weren't in my unit, but now I can hunt statewide so the options are open.

Today I placed a trailcam over a lick about 10 yds from where that kid found the aforementioned antlers. It's in a wooded creekbottom near his home. Will check it in a few weeks.
