Static Cling on Powder Funnel

A while back I was reloading some 17 Remington with a new powder funnel. The funnel was saturated with static to the point that a fair amount of my powder charges would stick to the funnel when loading the shell. Very annoying....

Anyway I tried a few static zapping methods of which none worked. My Dad eventually mentioned that I should rub the funnel with a new dryer sheet. It worked like a charm!

Hope this helps somebody who gets into a sticky static situation.

My funnel hasn't been washed in 35 years, Maybe wipped with a Kleenex the odd time. I got a powder measurer, still in the box, same age as the funnel. I use a desert bowl, teaspoon, and final touch up with the trickler.

Not trying to steal the topicbut does anyone bother cleaning the primer pockets ?
I don't but I only reload a case once due to the hot loads.

Yea I clean primer pockets. I have a nail set into a wooden handle, sharp end out. About one turn around the corner and their clean.

Hot loads huh. When I first started with my 6.5x06 I wanted to see what I could do with 140 gr bullets. Just over 3100 fps from a 25" barrel. Shoot once and seat a new primer with my fingers. Shoot again and throw the case away. Little bit of gas cutting on my bolt face. Think Nuff of that! lol

I've been using Fed 30-06 cases for my 270 reloads so I don't have to trim.
I got hundreds of 06 cases. I'd say that 30-40 % of the hunters here use the 06. Probably the same everywhere.

Some nice to have Keoeeit out of BGH. I figurered that was his intentions and he just couldn't handle people being nice..

Never wipe out a plactic funnel. The graphite coating from the powder is what helps to prevents static from building up on that material. The more you use it, you'll notice static will go away. The same for a powder hopper. Never wipe them out, especially with paper. Have fun and be safe. Yes
