I was there with you, and I never been that scared in my life... Don't feel too bad anymore about trying to climb the tree because you ran before me when we ran into one tonight......

I think I understand. Don't play dead. Don't fight back. Bring a friend that you can outrun! Thumbs up

being hunted

Glad to hear you guys are OK. I saw a video on TV where a guy was hiking take some nice video of the country side and forest and a black bear began to stalk him . He backed up and didn't run thank God but was calling out to the bear who kept coming, you could see by the bears actions it was not simply curious but stalking the man. By the guy's voice he began to panic and walked into a pond and the bear hung out watching the guy in the water for a while and then left.

It's great to have someone else with you because you don't have to be fast, just faster than you're buddy. ( just kidding) .

I had a wolveriene come after me a couple of years back that was scary but I'll save that story for later.
Cheers

Is that the same video you watched?

who's stalking who?

Yup, that must be the same video, after that they showed some guy dressed up in football gear and sprinkle doe in heat all over himself in rut season and then he got the crap beat out of him by a horny buck. I never laughed so hard in my life.
In my guiding experiences I have had many encounters with bear's. Charges, bluff's, huffing and puffing , several tree visits in my tree stand but never had one stalking me. Kind of make's what little hair I have stand on end. I always have my defender 12 guage slug gun with me when bear baiting. I used pepper one time on a bear who was about 5 feet from the bottom of my stand. Seemed he wanted a place to sit but it was occupied already so I let him have it in the eye's and snout. It was a nice boar whom began licking the stuff and then licking the tree where it was running down. So much for that.
Any way once again glad to hear you guys are OK.
