Spring Turkey Hunting in LA.

I'm going to be traveling to Louisiana this spring for turkey season and was wanting some help on were to hunt. I know it's a long ways off put I like planning early. Also can you hunt hogs the same time. Is there any public hunting down there that is good to hunt or do you need private land.
