Yep, been hunting Oregon birds since 1984 when I had to draw a tag to hunt them.

I replied to your question on another site also.

Turkey Hunting

I see you are from the Crook County area. When hunting the grizzly unit during archery season I saw a ton of turkeys. I am looking for areas to hunt around Sisters area for turkeys, or even the valley. I am anxious to kill one with my bow this year.

Wow! Influx of new tur,,,,,members. Welcome to all of you!

I've never hunted the things. Are they any good to eat? There's a lot of them at Pine Grove. Over in the valley I've seen them out near Kings Valley and Hoskins.

OregonHuntress....how far are you looking to travel to hunt turkeys? I only hunt public land exclusively. Might be able to point you and at a place or two to try.

I am willing to hunt wherever I might be able to get a turkey. This will be my first year turkey hunting and am pretty anxious to get one. Your tips would be greatly appreciated.
