Spot N' Stalk in Maine

hey everyone,

well baiting season is coming to an end here in maine and i havn't shot a bear yet so i was looking for a new technique. is it possible to spot n' stalk bears in Maine? or is it to heavily forested. where i plan on trying this there are mostly potato fields and clear cuts with small patches of woods. how would i go about looking for them? what time of day? can i drive around in a truck or 4 wheeler or should i walk on foot. and where is the most likely spot for me to see them? any info is appreciated. thanks

"Stalking trophy black bears is one of the most challenging and intimidating pursuits in North American hunting, especially with a primitive weapon. Doing this when the autumn landscape is shrouded under a bounty of radiant tincture – the air thick with fall’s aromatic pleasures – is the biggest kick of all."
