Hey Moderators...

I'm on a few other forums and I gotta tell ya, yours is the only one I gotta use my Orphan Annie decoder ring in order to post something. Sometimes I get "entered wrong" when it's usually pretty clear to see what the letters are. Annoying to say the least

Me too

Happened to me for the first time yesterday.  This site has changed quite a bit in the last couple years.  Debating if it's still worth my time to chime in here on occasion anymore.  Really enjoy all of the conversations that take place here and the intent of this forum, but it's just not the same forum it used to be when I first joined.  Used to have so many active participants and very involved moderators who actually participated too.

I believe that some of the

I believe that some of the problems with this site started and ended with the contest that the former owners ran to get the site hits and post counts up so that they could sell it. A lot of members left just because they got tired of the BS that was being posted by members and they just didn't want to deal with it.

I have also wondered where all the moderators have gone to. There are a few that still check in and will comment on a thread every now and then but then they are gone again.

I have found that a site is only as good as them members that are posting on it. I like this site but it is a shadow of its former self. You could probably count on both hands the number of members that post here on a regular basis and it is hard to keep coming back to a forum that is being run like that.

I have even posted questions to the new owners and have PM'ed them and others and have never receiced a responce to my questions.  The only time that I ever receiced a responce was when I started to email the new owners when the site was down last fall.  It is sad to see a site like this one go down the hill the way that it is.

Hear ya

I haven't been here in months. You're right about the contest ruining this site. I think it did.

This used to be my favorite site. Never was super busy but always quality content. Now it is dead.

You said it man.  This sight used to be active enough with enough active participants who would hang around here long enough to contribute quality info, share ideas, debate, chat, etc.  Now it seems like its just new people signing up and log-on to ask a question or demand some scouting info, take what they can get, and never come back here to even say thanks.  Seems to be the norm around here for the last 3-4 years or so. I've always told new hunters here that you don't need to be an expert to contribute or engage in the conversations here.  Participation is what had kept this forum going.  Admittedly I myself haven't come back here too often in the last year or so.  And I will bare some responsibility for probably running one or two people off here or discouraging them from coming back.

This is (was) my favorite forum for the last 8 years.  It still is, but that's mostly because it's about the only forum I still participate on occasionally.  My favorite forum ever was fnhipower.com, but that sight went defunct sometime at the end of 2005. Amazing that so many people could talk so much about one pistol (FN/Browning Hi-Power) for so long on one forum, it was a great sight though.

Still Entering Codes to Preview a Post

Well I had to have pissed off somebody here because for the past 2+ weeks every post I make I have to enter that ^)&(**$$##@! code in order to even preview my post before posting it. Yes, I'm one of those that participated very eagerly in the monthly contests but you would think Outdoor Hub was better at managing their web sites. Honestly - I have never opened a link (purposely) to one of their advertisers... and that could be why I'm always entering a dang code!  banghead     See even this response I had to enter a stupid code.  I'm almost ready to just go to another NON-Outdoor Hub web site... but enjoy your hunter's insight and knowledge so I continue to stay.

I can go quite a while before

I can go quite a while before I get that dreaded "To complete this form, please complete the word verification below" box and then I'll get it for the next 10 post. There is nothing consistent about it.

I was just thinking today how the former owners would get on here and post every now and then but I haven't seen them for quite a while now. It is almost like they had to promise that they would never get back onto the forums after they sold it kind of thing.

Yep, I jinxed myself.  Now I'll go and enter the code. Censored
