Sow runs Boar off bait...Pics

Here are 4 pics that where all off the same roll as the other 2 bears. If you look at the first pic the boar is posturing to show his dominance. The boar laid there most of the night and was there first thing in the morning. This is the bear that I posted as bear with personality. Second pic is him standing with head down and ready to fight. Then the third pic is the sow posturing with her ears laid back running the boar off. Then the last pic is the cub in the back ground with some meat scraps and the sow watching over it. Is great pics. Finally got a cub pic.
Here are the pics...

How high off the ground is the cam? How many dud pictures do you get for every good picture? Just curious, thanks for sharing!

My camera now is around 7'6" off the ground. What do you mean by dud pics?

Dud meaning if the camera snaps 20 pictures are all 20 useful (pictures of game) or do you get say 10 of nothing at all (like a wind blown branch or something like that triggered it).

First year using them. First roll I had on this site was from branches.36 pics of it. Got that all cleaned up. This roll here out of 24 pics I had 2 pics with no bears on it. I had another roll with all bears. This year I have 13 rolls of film taken so far.
I had a roll of foxes and squirrels.
A roll with bears and crows.
The roll of branches.
But the rest I have of bears. Not to many duds once I got the kinks worked out of it. The only thing is when I go in to rebait I go up and put my hand over the camera lense so it takes a dark pic which they do not charge to get developed.
Another guy on another site gave me tons of advice on this particular model. But it is a great camera.

Ok, thanks for the info. Sounds like you can get it down pretty good with trial-and-error. For some reason I was under the impression that a trail cam always took a fair number of duds....

Bit I have mine set for 2 pics every 5 minutes. Most of my duds are from the bear walking by the camera and the second is with nothing on it. Sometimes the camera is more sensitive than others. depending on where the sun is. But it is a great gadget to have and use. I like it and feel it is great. Wish I had one for a camcorder though so as to get footage rather than just pics. I have been learning alot about bear behavior with just the pics I get. They are pretty comical at times. But the biggest thing is follow the instructions on them about where not to put them. As a typical man I about threw the instructions away. But I did read them and was glad. Also from Buckmagnet from the other site as he gave great advice on how to use it.

Pretty cool tool you got yourself there, I've seen them for sale but never gave it much thought until now. See what you went and did? You've cost me money, now I gotta have one. Keep up the great photo post's . Very enjoyable viewing.

Yeah video would be awesome, but quite a bit more tricky. I'm not aware of any commercial products specifically for this (doesn't mean they are not out there though). However, it could be possible to make a homebrew rig with video.

I thought once that a person could make a small webcam like device, rig it to a wireless base station, that would stream the video to another safer (and powered location). The advantage to this would be that the cam/wireless-station would draw less power and if the bear decided to take a swipe at it, then your just out a cam/station, rather than the whole camcorder.

Very true Bit. I really would love to figure something out like that. Not mechanical that way. I can build anything though.LOL Try to find something about it.LOL Let me know and I will try it. I have a very good spot for bears but the wife son and daughter dont have the time to put on the bait as I do.
