I am planning a trip out to the South Fork of the Shoshone National Forest for mule deer hunting. This is the first trip for my buddies and i out west. Does anyone have any tips or advice for hunting in that area?
Wolf, can you be more specific as to where you are planning on going. I know the Shoshone Nat` Forest is near Cody, WY and the South Fork of the Snake River runs from Wy-Id border thru South-East Idaho.
I reside in SE Idaho and can give you some pointers on mule deer hunting near the South Fork, if that is the case....
The area is the South Fork Shoshone River which is just south west of Cody. It is the southern drainage branch of Buffalo Bill Reservoir. Deer Creek Campground is within the area that we'll be hunting and the Bolder Ridge area. Most of the area is classified as wilderness. I'm not too sure what else to mention because we really don't have a deffinate area that we know we'll be hunting until we get there i guess or get unless we get some good advice on here about where to hunt.
