I will be going out west Elk hunting again this year. and on my way back home, i would like to find a Motel about 1/2 way across SD on 90, any suggestions ?, i know that there is a bunch of small towns, but i don't know if any of them have a Motel. something around the 200 mile marker would be great.

I don't know the area at all but do travel fairly often anymore in our hunting adventures. I use hotels.com alot in finding what's available in a given area and the prices are usually the same as if you started making phone calls to individual hotels. I did find one case where they were way off but that is not normally the case. The ratings are very helpful as well and usually pretty accurate when I have gotten there in person.
Plus after ten hotel stays you get a free one. Just start looking at the biggest towns in the area and work your way out I guess.
chamberlain has a bunch of motels. its right on the missouri river and is in the middle of the state. its your best bet...murdo is further west. also motels. further east is mitchel...number of hotels

If your travel goes through Pierre/Ft. Pierre, stay at the Ft. Pierre Motel if you want a great, clean, mom and pop run operation. Mike and Jodi take care of all of their hunting/fishing guests. Did I say it was CLEAN?
They are the closest motel to 200 square miles of free public hunting AND they can put you in contact with a great guide if you need one!
