Well, January 1st is almost

Well, January 1st is almost here and we are going out to scout the ranch and public lands on Friday, December 31st.  We hope to fill at least 1 or 2 of the 3 tags we have left.  I just can't wait.  I just don't know what I'll do when hunting season ends.  Have had great success this year.  I just hope it continues with the pronghorn.

Well, didn't get out on

Well, didn't get out on December 31st or January 1st because of winter storm and blizzard warnings.  We did go out today but the speedgoats didn't.  We went from the ranch where we hunt them down to Edgemont and everywhere we normally see pronghorn was barren.   We saw mule deer, whitetail deer, 2 nice herds of elk and a lot of mature bald eagles and nice looking hawks.  Will be trying again next weekend.

antelope were few and far

antelope were few and far between on public land. i spotted a small group early in the am but waited too long to chase em. they were gone.

finally at about 3pm i spotted a nice group about a mile out in the middle of a field...put a stalk on them and got to 455 yards before shooting a huge doe. then i had to drag her out !!long ways a mile
